JOIN INFORMATION SYSTEM AUDIT (ISA) POST QUALIFICATION COURSE (PQC) - NOW TAKE ISA ASSESSMENT TEST (AT) IN JUNE 2014

 Members interested in qualifying the Information Systems Audit   Post Qualification Course Assessment Test (ISA-PQC-AT) in June 2014 attempt, may join now and complete their ISA Professional Training by March, 2014.  Details are as under:

 

 ISA VISION

This programme enables ICAI members to become world-class Systems Auditors, systems control & security professionals. Technology Consultants and Tech-savvy Finance Executives. It helps them to take on multiple roles, responsibilities and leadership in a complex and rapidly evolving business environment. It provides guidance and support in Information Technology (IT) to governments, corporate, service organisations and society at large, by : Setting learning standards for its members. Conducting research in system security, control and audit. Developing Information Systems (IS) audit standards and competencies. Establishing good governance and security practices.

 

 WHO CAN JOIN / HOW TO JOIN?

A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.  Those who have passed Final Exam conducted by ICAI, and have applied for membership (subject to enrollment as a member). Members interested in taking the ISA Course can apply for registration to the ISA Course by using the Registration Form available with the ISA Prospectus or by filling the online form available at http://cit.icai.org/prospectus.html along with the requisite course fees, two copies of recent passport sized photographs and proof of ICAI membership.

 

 FEES STRUCTURE

Prospectus Fee: Rs. 150/- , Course Fee: Rs.17,500/- payable vide DD in favour of “The Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India” payable at New Delhi.  OR Fill the online form available on the Committee portal at http://cit.icai.org and send the same with requisite course fees, two copies of recent passport sized photo and proof of ICAI membership Letter. (Course Fee includes 12 Days ISA PT, ISA ET Fees (First Attempt only), Background Materials for the Course, Course Book and ROSM/ OLPT facility).

ISA PROFESSIONAL TRAINING (PT):

PT Batches are generally scheduled on Saturday / Sunday Full Day basis (9.00 AM - 6.00 PM) for six weeks from time to time on formation of break-even batches.  ISA PT batch starts from 8th February, 2014 at Hotel St. Laurn, Old Vadaj, Ashram Road, Ahmedabad.  Participants are requested to contact the Ahmedabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI office for registration in batches (First come first served basis: Maximum 60 seats available). Kindly note that minimum attendance @ 90% is mandatory.

This is for the  information of  all members who have registered for Post Qualification Course in Information System Audit but not yet completed the ISA  Professional Training that  the Executive Committee at its 518th meeting held on 9th May, 2013 has taken following decisions :

 

1. Members, who have earlier paid Rs. 6000/- or 10000/- as the fee for ISA Course and do not undergo the professional training before September 30th, 2013, post this period, the fee paid by such registrants at the time of joining the course may be refunded by deducting 50% of the fee paid. Such members may rejoin the ISA Course by paying full fee at prevailing rate on said date.

 

2. The Committee decided to withdraw the provision whereby member who had earlier undergone ISA Professional Training, was allowed to repeat it on payment of Rs.2500/-. The Committee decided that in case anyone wants to undergo the ISA Professional Training again, he (she) will have to pay the full ISA Registration fee again, at the prevailing rates at that point of time.

 

3. The Committee also decided to raise the fee of those joining ISA Eligibility Test for the second and subsequent attempt, from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1000/-.

 

4. The Committee also decided that those who are joining ISA Course at the current fees will have to complete the ISA Professional Training by end of next financial year from the date of registration. In case they fail to do so, fee will be refunded after deducting 50%.

 

5. Henceforth, all members joining ISA Course at the present fees will be given time till the end of next financial year to complete the professional training. (For example, a candidate joining on or after 1st April, 2012 can complete his ISA PT by 31st March, 2014 and a candidate joining on 1st March 2012 will have to complete his professional training by 31st March, 2013).

 

6. The Committee also decided that in case any candidate joins the professional training but fails to complete 90% attendance would be treated under the category “PT Undergoing” and such candidate will be permitted to complete the training in the subsequent batches without charging any extra fees. However, conditions stated in point 5 above will be applicable.

 

 

COURSE CURRICULUM

The course curriculum for the ISA course is divided into seven modules as under :- Information Technology Infrastructure, Communication Networking Technologies, Protection of Information Assets, Systems Development Life Cycle & Application Details, Business Continuity Planning, Information Systems Organization & Management.

 

ELIGIBILITY TEST (ET):

After completing ISA PT with 90% attendance,  you have to appear for ISA ET which is held in the month of May/November around second Saturday for which you need to get prior registration, 15 days before the test through ONLINE at http://cit.cai.org ISA Portal. The ISA ET is the Preliminary Test designed to prepare candidates for the final examination – ISA Assessment Test (AT). The following points provide further details:

The ISA ET is currently organised on a half-yearly basis on the second Saturday of May/ November every year. Candidates who have successfully completed their ISA PT by participating minimum 90% classes are eligible to take the ISA ET. To appear for the ISA ET in May/ Nov, candidates have to fill the online ISA ET form between 15th – 30th of April / October respectively. A confirmatory mail/ message is auto-generated when a form is successfully filled by the candidate. For appearing in the ISA ET for the first time, NIL fee is payable. For second and subsequent appearance, ET Fee of Rs.1000/- has to be submitted by the last date of previous month from the ET Attempt, payable vide DD/ Pay Order of Rs.1000/- in favour of “The Secretary, ICAI” payable at Delhi/ New Delhi”. The ISA ET Results are declared by 6.00 p.m. of third Saturday/ following Saturday.  To successfully qualify ISA ET, a candidate has to secure minimum 50% marks. A Performance Analysis Statement is available on the login of the candidates who have successfully qualified the ISA ET.

 

ISA ASSESSMENT TEST (AT) :

The ISA AT is the final examination that a candidate has to qualify. The following points provide the further details:

Members registered for the PQC on ISA who have qualified the ISA ET are eligible to take the ISA AT.

The earlier restriction of four attempts in two years has since been withdrawn. Hence, a candidate who has qualified ISA ET can take any of the scheduled ISA AT. The ISA AT is currently organised on a half-yearly basis in the months of June/ December. A candidate has to secure minimum 75% scaled average marks to qualify. ISA AT results are generally declared in 4-5 weeks on the official website of the Institute at www.icai.org. The likely date of declaration of results is also announced on the Official Website of the Institute at www.icai.org around three weeks from the date of ISA AT. A mark sheet giving marks secured by the candidate is generally issued within a fortnight of declaration of results. ISA AT certificate is generally issued within 3 months of results declaration by the Examination Department of the Institute.

 

D.I.S.A. (ICA) TITLE :

“The Council, at its 281st Meeting held on October 3-5, 2008 noted that as per Schedule ‘F” to the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 members who qualify the Post Qualification Course in Information Systems Audit are entitled to use the title D.I.S.A. (ICA) after their names while the title is D.I.R.M. (ICAI) and D.I.T.L. (ICAI) for other Post Qualification Courses.The Council, after due consideration, decided to change, under Regulation 205, the sub-title “(ICA)” to “(ICAI) for all Post Qualification Courses, including Post Qualification Course on Information Systems Audit, to bring uniformity across all post qualification courses. In view of the above,  all ISA Qualified members are requested to use the title D.I.S.A. (ICAI), henceforth.”
