Receipt of notice for scrutiny cases causes shivers in the body and mind of the assesses. The problem is not generally on the legal side but of recalling records and claims, relevant for scrutiny as the scrutiny involves a period other than the current year. Once the return is selected for scrutiny, the assessee has to keep handy the evidences substantiating his claims and also needs to identify the various other aids such as supporting case laws, circulars, notifications, etc. and keep them ready for use as and when required.
This Play has been specifically designed for Young Chartered Accountants to know how the scrutiny assessments are conducted – a wonderful culmination of theoretical knowledge with practicality!!
Direct Tax Committee has compiled the following documents which will be handed over to the participants:
1. Scrutiny notice
2. Reply to the scrutiny notice with relevant annexures, case laws and circulars
3. Various checklists to assist in scrutiny assessments
